Collins Classic - awful translation. I guess the translation is so old it's out of copyright and thus cheap to publish, but I'd recommend getting a better translation. Try this for size: I could not be then, O God, could not be at all, wert Thou not in me; or, rather, I were in Thee, of whom are all things, by whom all are all things, in whom are all things? I'm pretty academic and I'm finding this version a hard slog. Augustine is hard enough anyway. No need to make reading it like wading through porridge. I'll be donating my copy to a charity shop and buying a better one.
