Jesus chose dysfunctional, broken people to build his church. Two thousand years later, the church is still full of dysfunctional, broken people.

Today we see similar things to what Jesus faced. Back then, the governments ruled with an iron fist. An angry mob convinced the government to crucify Jesus. Sexual immorality was rampant. There was widespread division between the people, idolatry, and many other sins.

As you read, put yourself in the Disciple's sandals. You will find that there are many similarities between the disciples and us. For example, we all have pride issues, get angry and do things that we later regret. However, we need to learn from our mistakes, be humble, step out of our comfort zone, begin loving on others, and building God's kingdom.
