Week 2. Friendship and Tape Measures

The lesson focuses on understanding and experiencing God’s unexpected friendship, emphasising that God seeks connection with those who might be overlooked or considered different. Through activities, stories, and prayer, we’re invited to reflect on how Jesus' actions—such as welcoming children and befriending the unvalued—demonstrate God’s deep and unconditional friendship.

Week 3. Healing and Bananas

The lesson focuses on understanding and sharing God's healing on the inside, illustrating that God mends our broken hearts and helps us feel valued and loved. Activities include games with bananas to symbolise the challenges of helping those who are hurting, interactive discussions of a Bible story about Jesus healing the bleeding woman, and crafting "banana telephones" to practise listening and support.

Week 4. Mercy and Toilet Rolls

The lesson emphasises that God delights in showing mercy, and we should strive to do the same by extending love and kindness to others, even when they don’t deserve it. Through activities, stories, and prayer, and films we’re invited to look at how Jesus extends radical kindness and forgiveness.

Week 5. Compassion and Shoes

The lesson teaches that God’s compassion is profound, showing how He steps into our suffering and understands us fully. Activities include games such as swapping shoes to symbolise empathy and a craft to create shoelace tags as reminders of compassion. The session emphasises that Jesus’ actions, especially at the cross, demonstrate God’s care and desire for us to extend that compassion to others.

Week 6. Generosity and Crisps

The lesson focuses on God's generosity and how we can reflect that in our actions. It encourages creating a list of blessings to appreciate daily and emphasises sharing resources with those in need. The session suggests acts of giving more than asked and learning about those less fortunate to foster empathy and generosity.

Week 7. Kindness and Ice Cubes

The lesson teaches that God's kindness is both felt and shown through actions. Activities include melting ice cubes and breaking ice blocks to symbolise how kindness can be gentle or powerful. The session highlights Jesus' compassionate treatment of Blind Bartimaeus and emphasises that we should also act with kindness to those around us

Week 8. Anger and Toothpaste

The lesson discusses how God's anger is protective and directed against harm and suffering. It encourages thoughtful reflection on anger, using the metaphor of toothpaste to illustrate how it can be controlled and helpful or messy and harmful. Activities include praying for those facing challenges and recognising righteous anger in response to injustice.

Week 9. Justice and Balls

The lesson teaches children that God's justice involves putting right what is wrong. It emphasises the importance of not being bystanders but stepping in to help others, inspired by Jesus clearing the temple. Activities, prayers, and crafts help children understand and grapple with the concept of justice in their daily lives.

Week 10. Welcome and Keys

The lesson teaches that God’s welcome is open to everyone, regardless of who they are. It highlights Jesus' actions of welcoming various people and emphasises that we, too, can show this kind of unconditional welcome. Activities and discussions are designed to help children understand and reflect this inclusivity in their lives.
