Throughout the Bible—from its opening pages to the culmination of Christ's return—two parallel dramas are unfolding. First, there is a lower story, which describes the events from our human perspective. The lower story, our story, is actually the stories of many men and women interacting with God in the daily course of life. But there is also an upper story, which reveals how the events are unfolding from heaven's perspective. The upper story, God's story, is the tale of his overarching purpose that puts all the individual stories together like panels in one unified mural.

The goal of The Story Bible Study is to give you "bifocal lenses" so you can see what is happening in both these lower and upper stories. As you read these narratives, you will see how God has been weaving our lower story into the greater upper story that he has been writing.
