This Fifth Edition of The ABCs is intended for group use as a study in the basics of Bible and Doctrine. Doctrine means "teaching." The Church's doctrines are the body of ideas and concepts which the Church has taught and continues to teach. The Bible is the chief source of the Church's teaching, and the rule against which its teachings are measured. This study is centered on twenty-six basic themes of the Church's teaching. In each chapter you will find a description of the theme, accompanied by biblical references and quotations that amplify or augment the description. After this section, you will find a Daily Study Guide. This section presents questions for each day in the week intended to lead you to portions of the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, and to provoke reflection on these.
