The book looks at the finished work of Jesus Christ accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. That mankind is unable by his own effort to attain the God-kind of Holiness.

The Mosaic Law was not given to accord righteousness to mankind but to reveal sin and point people to the Messiah Jesus Christ who would come and fulfil the demands of the Law. Faith in Jesus is the central point in pleasing God who accepts the sinner who believes not because of what he has done but what Jesus did.
