In Poetry, PTSD, My Family, and Me

Edward Michaels describes his journey through life.
He writes about his children and his amazing, steadfast wife.
He talks of love and loss, life and pain, PTSD, his darkness and shame.
He expresses the importance of finding angelic aid,
Pushing to stand again, to illuminate the shade.
To mention military service, the pride from serving his flag,
And the utter devastation when advised to pack his bag.
But this book is not all gloomy, as it talks of laughter too,
The strength of those around him, the bond of family glue.
That all is never over, that we're never completely done,
That we all can shine again, if we have landed on our bum.
