Load-Bearing Walls pays homage to the people and places in life that support us. The twenty-three edgy poems in this collection tackle the tough stuff of widowhood, loss, illness, change, and aging in the courageous tone of a strong senior woman, speaking plainly with humor, tenderness, or anger ... and always a big dose of truth regarding the quiet wreckage of everyday life. In this collection you will meet lovers, business partners, friends, who have been load-bearing walls for each other. The author, Linda B. Myers, a self-described part of the Pacific Northwest old growth, reaches out a hand to help readers on their own journeys.
