I lay on the couch, brokenhearted and alone, crying out to God to please take me home. I could not bear to live anymore. I had just suffered a very painful loss. I thought my heart was shattered beyond repair. But God did what H does best. He told me He loved me and would never let me go. He put the broken pieces back together and fashioned a brand new heart. He restored my soul and caused me to rejoice with hope again. The circumstances didn't change, but I did. God's words became this poetry-rhymes and stories of my everyday life, snapshots of my walk with God. They include the things that I hold dear. Some of the poems have been hard for me to read, and I wish I could erase them. But I have discovered that these hard times eventually lead to good times and a closer walk with God.

I am just an ordinary woman who serves an extraordinary God. My prayer is that as you read this poetry, you will know that if you are lonely, God is with you. If you feel abandoned, God won't let you go. If you are hurting, God can heal you. If you have a broken heart, God can put the pieces back together. If you are lost, God will show you the way. If you are walking in the darkness, His light turns night into day. If you think nobody loves you, God does and always will.
