All children are a gift from God; not just the easy or good ones The most important factor in your mothering, though, is a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Trials are to be expected yet no temptation is new. Your fight with discouragement is common to mothers throughout the ages. Discouragement can result from your own failures, for which God provides forgiveness upon repentance, and from your child's shortcomings - yet God expects you to deal with your children using biblical goals and methods. Faithful even if unfruitful God's purpose in every trial is to mature your faith.
