Seventeen-year-old Emaline has carried the weight of abandonment her entire life, raised by a loving grandmother while dreading every Mother's Day that reminds her of the mother who left. When Pastor John's wife, Sarah, receives a terminal diagnosis, Emaline makes a life-changing promise in Sarah's final moments: to love and care for little Katie as her own daughter. What begins as a sacred vow becomes something neither Emaline nor Pastor John expected when they find themselves drawn to each other. As John emerges from the depths of grief, he begins to see God's hand orchestrating their unlikely family. Both must face their feelings while honoring Sarah's memory and facing the scrutiny of their small-town church community. Emaline struggles with her deep fear of abandonment. This story explores how God transforms our wounds into blessings, redemption, and the second chances that divine love can provide.
