There are those who think knowing about God is the same as knowing God. That is not true Knowing God requires a relationship with Him.

Knowing facts about God does not constitute a relationship, and not until you act based on the facts you have learned of Him will a relationship begin. Your relationship with Him opens up a better understanding of His character and His ways.

Some people even serve God without truly having a relationship with Him. King David told his son Solomon, "Know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart." Unfortunately, many reverses that, and serve a God they don't really know.
