In 1840s France, a wine merchant and his friend struggle when they catch the spark of a new song that challenges both their abilities and faith alike. Encouraged by the local parish priest, they consider debuting the song for the newly renovated sanctuary during Christmas services.
In 2000s Boston, an orchestral conductor fights time as a celebratory Christmas concert rapidly approaches. With tensions amongst the musicians, as well as doubt in his own arrangements, he's scrambling to make the show a success.
Set across varying cities and time periods, Thrill of Hope weaves stories interlaced by the common thread of the Christmas carol, O Holy Night. Told in four distinct movements, Thrill of Hope blends the form of both music and literature to create an impactful examination of the importance of the popular carol and of Christ's birth as the reason for the Christmas season.
