    Product Description

Journey afresh into the wonder, beauty and glory to be found in the age-old story of Christmas with this beautiful little gift book. Bringing together thought-provoking and inspiring poems and illustrations, A Quickening retells and reframes the Nativity story in a fresh way.

Weaving together different voices, forms and perspectives, this collection of poems forms a rich tapestry that offers new insights and moments to pause and reflect in the busiest period of the year.

The perfect accompaniment through the Advent period, A Quickening invites us to encounter this story for ourselves, with words that speak to the heart as well as the head.

Beautifully designed with pen and ink hand-drawn illustrations, this is a book to treasure or give as a meaningful gift this Christmas, for those who wish to experience this story anew and for those who do not know the story at all.

Rosemary Hector grew up in Northern Ireland and is a graduate of St Andrews University. She has had texts published in New Writing Scotland, Chapman and Poetry Scotland and is it the author of Knowing Grapes (HappenStance Press, 2014) and Labyrinth (Handsel Press, 2017). She is interested in Scottish writing and visual art, textiles, travel and walking. Rosemary lives in Edinburgh with her husband, Alistair.
