The 1986 New English Hymnal was the successor to the original English Hymnal of 1906 and has remained unchanged throughout the past two decades. As part of the English Hymnal centenary celebrations in Spring 2006, the three editions of an entirely new supplement New English Praise, comprising fifty hymns together with a range of seasonal material and responsorial psalms and some new tunes for existing items, will take New English Hymnal into a new era
