The Face of Rebellion
God cannot stand the sight of rebellion, and many a time he has dealt with rebellion in the most brutal way when it faced him head on. Rebellion rears its ugly head in opposition to authority, and its manifestation can be traced all the way back to the days of creation of Adam and Eve by God. God in 1 Samuel 15v23 said rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, of which witchcraft is use of demonic supernatural powers in order to harm or inflict damage upon someone or his property without any justified cause. God hates witchcraft, and according to his word in Exodus 22v18, 'Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.' Simply put, God says, 'witches, wizards, or sorcerers should not be allowed to live.' Realize that, when the human race turned from God into rebellion, God was no longer part and parcel of them. Hence the power that took charge was witchcraft. Witchcraft is bad, and is the legal arm of destruction of Satan or his power to do and undo. Basically, witchcraft teaches and practices the worship of the devil, and that is the kingdom of darkness.
Thus walking in rebellion is an attitude displayed to contradict authority. So by presenting an act of open resistance to an established government, kingdom setup or leadership or the process of resisting control, or convention, you are a rebel. Rebellion is tantamount to defiance, or disobedience against authority. Therefore defiance of any given legitimate authority is undoubtedly, disobeying God. Hence rebelling against authority, is rebelling against God as seen in Romans 13v1-7, "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established...he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves...therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake..."
