Do Christian denominations and their clergy have the authority to promise you will go to Heaven when you die? What if they don't? What if they have never had the authority to make that promise? How can we know?

IT'S ALL IN THE CONTRACT!

A covenant is a legal contract. God created an unbreakable covenant with Christ and called it the New Covenant. It had conditions plus rewards. One of those rewards was eternal life in Heaven.

This new contract was drawn up because the priesthood had changed. The establishment of a new priesthood was the basis of the New Covenant.

For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law. Hebrews 7:12

God cancelled the old priesthood and created a new priesthood headed by His Son. Christ became God's new and permanent High Priest, who would rule as King over a kingdom of priests. His role under this New Covenant was to personally lead a priesthood of all believers.

You have made them to be a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth. Revelation 5:10

All the new laws, rewards and promises attached to God's New Covenant with Christ, including eternal life, were specific to this priesthood arrangement. Under the terms of this contract, only loyal members of Christ's priesthood of all believers could be rewarded with Heaven. The terms were fixed and sealed with the blood of Christ.

BUT THEN CAME A SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT!

A Roman Emperor, Constantine, commandeered the promises attached to God's New Covenant and illegally attached them to his new political religious structure. His aim was to bring all religions under his control and create one single world religion run by his newly made-up priesthood. This new priesthood would be a paid clergy class operating as an extension of his Imperial rule and answerable only to him.

When Constantine took the 'priesthood' out of the hands of all believers and put it into the hands of his paid clergy class, he stepped outside the terms of God's contract with Christ. He had no authority to create a new priesthood and claim it was part of the New Covenant. It was not!

He promised eternal life to all who followed his paid clergy class. But eternal life was not his to grant. What he actually did was deceive people into believing they could have eternal life without being part of Christ's kingdom of priests. And that is just not true! A contract is a contract!

THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT IS STILL IN PLACE!

Being a follower of Christ is different from being a member of a denomination. Being part of Christ's priesthood of all believers is different from submitting to credentialed clergy.

The assumption that we can abandon the New Covenant priesthood set up by God and Christ, follow denominational religion and paid clergy instead, and still gain the rewards of heaven and eternal life, is the greatest deception since the fall. Billions have been deceived!

If you want to go to heaven when you die, there is only one question you need to consider:

Have you fulfilled the terms of the New Covenant?
