Courage! Conflict! Forgiveness! Reconciliation! Romance! Hope! Faith!
New Zealand's astounding history and scenery are brought to life in this vibrant telling of one man's family saga that reaches back to his forefathers during World War One. Robert Simpson sympathetically melds the stories of this intriguing group of people into one sweeping saga that finds its beginnings and ends, over and over, to the present day. Love is the overarching theme; love for family, love for Christ, and love of the deeply romantic, everlasting kind between a man and a woman.
Adam Fraser, the central character, is a Christian pastor and seller of religious books. On a mission into the hinterland of Papua New Guinea his heart is captured by Polly, a petite English nurse and midwife and their true adventures in life begin.
The author, Robert Simpson, was a Presbyterian parish minister in Christchurch, New Zealand, and has a background in, and love of, good literature, including managing a Christian bookshop in Port Moresby, and later becoming a pastor. After a bout of clinical depression, electro-convulsive therapy, and following a severe stroke, he was forced to retire, but has been writing devotional books and novels ever since.
