Peculiar deals with the multi-dimensions of humanity. The elements of the physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and financial components that make up the human life. Starting at the beginning of my earliest memories, what I experienced througout my academic life and how I navigated through being moved from school to school and redefining myself based on ever-changing societal norms.

This is a story of dealing with death at a young age and working through masculine sensibilities about expressing emotion and experiencing new things for the first time. It explores aspects of rejection and moving forward when life shows up differently than what I had planned. Peculiar is a compilation of striving for the American dream while living or attempting to live a godly life.

A memoir that chronicles decades of steadfastness; triumphs and defeats, when faith and doubt intersect and when God seems silent when I needed answers to life's most harrowing situations. It is an attempt to show the reader that life does not move in a straight line, but in a circuitous pattern that leads us back to God or a humble position if we can learn from the lesson.

Also the reader gets to experience elements of contradictions of faith when it rubs up against difficult experiences of heartbreak, bad decisions and challenging relationships. What I had to do when life became unbearable and where I went when I was about to fall apart.

Peculiar works through forgiveness and revival when I needed to rebuild my life...again and again.
