Is it possible to move imperiled African American males toward their God-ordained destiny?

When considering the plight of imperiled African American males, the way we see the problem could indeed be part of the problem. The complexity of the issues has been well documented. Of course, the challenges associated with helping just one cast off the garments of despair are real. From the Christian perspective, however, there is something from our past that could make a difference. Dare we leap and make even a small difference or just keep entertaining the feelings of helplessness that permeates far too many of our communities?
