A reward is given to the believer who lays down their claims to self-sufficiency - living by faith is easier said than done because it is in the nature of every person to first rely on themselves, their decision-making and their own abilities.

Faith in God is a supernatural way of living on earth - and it carries a promise of blessings - it's no wonder that the book of Romans says the righteous shall live by trusting God (Romans 1:17).
