If you surveyed people as to the most well-known passages in the Bible, you would probably get answers like John 3:16 for evangelism, 1 Corinthians 13 for weddings, Psalm 23 for funerals, or the Lord's Prayer when facing death. The problem with well-known passages is that we know them so well we tend to either read them without thinking about them or listen without really listening. This is true for Psalm 23.
