Many of us know of those who are caring for an aged parent with Parkinson’s and/or some form of Dementia but unless we have ‘been there’ ourselves we can only imagine what it is like. In this book Virginia Owens describes her thoughts and feelings through the long years of her Mother’s deterioration into a shadow of her former self. This is not written with any hint of self pity, it sets out to describe very honestly, her reactions to developments, her researches into the physical and mental state of her Mother, and her personal response to the knowledge. This is not a guide book for others going through the same traumatic time, but the author does hope that by sharing her own experiences others may find strength from the fact that they are not alone.
