In this book "Grandma gets Kidnapped" it helps children understand the importance of staying close to their caregivers while on an outing. The children will visualize themselves as possibly being separated from their guardian or those which were part of their group. They will be able to imagine the potentially unexpected, unfortunate consequences that could possibly develop.

The book brings an important sense of awareness to the audience ( children) of their responsibilities to always stick to the plans that were initially made for the day. Therefore the children will develop a greater discipline to stay focused on what is important rather than being distracted by temptations.

Throughout the story the children will be introduced to a variety of frequently used vocabulary words. They then will be given the opportunity to learn the definitions of each new, or unfamiliar word in the glossary at the end of the story. This special feature was included to enhance their future reading skills.
