Academic leaders have to change their job description in order to release the genius of every teacher in their school. Bureaucracy, discipline, and curriculum must be replaced by teacher engagement, pedagogy, and parent connection. The challenges today are different both in scope and scale. The 21st century teacher is leading a 21st century child with all its anxiety, confusion, loneliness, and fear.
