When a person turns from his sin and trusts in Jesus he begins a new life. The new life of following Jesus includes the expectation of gaining power and the victory over sin.Victory over sin comes as a result of the work that God does through the new birth and the work that the follower of Jesus does by God's grace through faith.Salvation is described in the Bible as dying with Jesus and being raised in newness of life.
