Frank and Lydia are looking forward to a peaceful week while Sheriff Maggie Greene is away on vacation, but of course in Oakville, there's no such thing as "peace and quiet". Maggie's officers are struggling in her absence, and when a series of blunders threatens to spiral out of control, Frank and Lydia find themselves stepping in to help.

Meanwhile, a missing persons case brings them to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. A local teen, presumed dead, is believed by his friend to be alive. Following a trail of clues the police missed, Frank and Lydia join the hunt for the truth.

And back at the winery, Little Gray, the resident cat at Gray Estates, repeatedly outsmarts Frank's attempts to train him to become an indoor kitty.
