Have you just bought the house of your dreams - or your worst nightmare?

A couple are hosting a dinner party in their brand new home. It's in the middle of the picturesque village they desperately wanted to move to and they're delighted. But it's not the first house they offered on; it's not the home they really set their hearts on. In that case, the owner refused their higher offer. The rejection hurt.

And, over the course of this dinner party, as they talk about the house that got away, curiosity gets the better of them. Who bought it? Why did the seller choose them? They decide to drive to the property to look at it again.

As they navigate the narrow country lanes in the dark, they're initially full of excitement. They can see the lights are on in the expensive, glass-fronted kitchen they loved so much. But horror awaits - for when they pull up outside and look more closely, they realise those inside have been murdered.

They should, of course, phone the police. But there was no logical reason to drive there. The security camera seems to be recording them. They've now put themselves into a criminal investigation they can't walk away from. What do they do next?

The gripping new thriller for the Queen of the Unguessable Mystery, for fans of Our House and The Family Upstairs.
