Some truths refuse to stay hidden. When Dr. Alan Carlyle rescues a leather satchel from glacial ice, he ignites a mystery that could rewrite human history. A university lab dates the leather to 2,400BC, but is unable to match its genome with any known species. The stitching contains polymer strands far beyond the boundaries of modern science. Inscriptions from the leather belong to no known language. The deeper Alan digs, the more the evidence points to an ancient civilization lost to time, and to divine judgment.
Other impossible relics begin to surface at random: a laser pistol embedded in rock from the bottom of the Atlantic, and an enormous spacecraft excavated from beneath the French Alps. Each bears the same haunting symbol from the leather of the satchel; a link to a world that should never have existed.
While Alan gathers a team of scientists to interpret the data, he faces a private reckoning-a forgotten letter reveals that his wife, and his best friend, have a shared past about which he never knew. This betrayal fractures his faith in humanity and taints his worldview. He dives deeper into himself as he struggles with existential challenges, both personal and professional, pondering the reality of an implied civilization lost to history.
When the language of the satchel is finally decoded, it reveals not just baffling science, but possibly a prophecy, and serves as a warning of what humanity could again become.
The book ends with the birth, in Scotland, of a very special baby boy, successfully cloned from ancient satchel DNA. He is destined to change the world. His story is told in Horns of the Altered, the second volume in the Double Helix trilogy, to be released in the Spring of 2026.
Bloodline weaves science, faith, and human longing into a sweeping, speculative thriller where every revelation is an existential challenge, every discovery tests the soul, and the greatest proof of God may lie buried beneath our feet.
The past is calling. Do you have the courage to answer?
Note - this book contains no profanity or sex scenes. If you're uncomfortable with conservative principles and references to Scripture, this might not be the book for you.
