Christianity is an unwelcome religion...at least it is in the United States. After the last civil war, Texas has split from the United States and took God, as well as ten other states, with it. Though not technically illegal, the US government oppresses the faith and has prohibited churches from owning property or meeting outside of private homes. Growing up an orphan in an all-girl government home, Evelyn entered college as a guarded and na ve young girl. Her purity sparks more than one man's interest, but when attentions turn hostile, she's driven to seek security in a man she barely knows. However, it's not long before she discovers war is at her doorstep.
