The Fisher Family Band was well known in their community and throughout the Detroit area. Fabian Fisher had raised his identitcal twin boys, Franklin and Frederick, to be musicians. Their mother, Marla, noted that Frederick was sensitive to the needs of others, especially in regard to his brother. She encouraged them to always look after one another. This would be crucial after Franklin's diagnosis of bipolar disorder. After the death of their parents, the twins were separated in the foster care system.
