Judea, 6 AD. The Romans have turned God's covenant land into a province. A census reduces God's people to numbers on a ledger. And in the shadows of Jerusalem, a secret resistance fights back.

Yohanan bar Asher is a carpenter by day and a cell leader in the Anshei HaEmet-the Men of Truth-by night. He kills a Jewish collaborator selling names to Rome. On his way home, Roman soldiers capture him. He is tortured in the Antonia Fortress. He gives them nothing. He dies with everything still inside him.

His son Eleazar is eight years old.

"Your father never broke," the man tells Eleazar's mother. "You carry that now."

Over twenty years, Eleazar grows from a boy who steals Roman sandals to a man who wields his father's blade. He joins the resistance. He kills Roman soldiers in a dark street. He travels the Jordan River by boat to save men who are not there. He watches his entire network destroyed by a Roman general's trap.

And through it all, he loves Yael-a sharp-tongued woman who has known him since childhood and refuses to be left behind.

Then word spreads from the wilderness. A voice is crying out by the Jordan River. A preacher named Yohanan the Immerser calls people to repent. He says the kingdom of heaven is near. Many think he is Elijah, returned to prepare the way for the Messiah.

Eleazar travels to the river. He hears the preacher. And he watches a thirty-year-old Galilean walk into the water-and hears the preacher say:

"This is God's Chosen One."

The Men of Truth: Season One is a work of historical fiction that locates the events of the New Testament within their first-century context. Jesus speaks no invented dialogue. John the Baptist's words are taken directly from the Gospels. The fictional elements are plainly fictional. The biblical elements are treated with reverence.

For readers who love The Chosen, Ben-Hur, and sweeping biblical epics that blend historical authenticity with original characters and gripping drama.

Season One ends with the baptism of Jesus. Season Two follows Eleazar through the Galilean ministry, Passion Week, and the resurrection.
