America has never had a king-or has she? Apparently, there was indeed a king, at least on Beaver Island. But this king was neither noble nor nobility. This king was a common thief with enough charisma to turn his own hijacked cult into a monarchy. And he and his followers did a great job of "appropriating supplies from the nearby Gentiles" to keep their little kingdom running well.
They did an equally great job of keeping people in the fold, even when they no longer wanted to be there and even when they were going to have to marry into the creepy king's harem.
As it turns out, God has a solution for that kind of thing.
