Set against the tumultuous backdrop of 13th-century Europe, Meinbald follows the life of a young German boy whose family's fate intertwines with the rise of Bohemia, the Crusades, and the dawn of Christianization in the North. Orphaned after a tragic fire, Meinbald is taken under the protection of the royal Abbess Agnes of Bohemia and trained within the newly founded Order of the Red Star and Cross.
