New York Times bestselling authors Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford bring readers the compelling story of a woman who must experience death in order to understand life.
Sarah Harper is driven to achieve success no matter what the cost. She wants to do good and not hurt the people she loves – especially her children and husband, Joe – but her ambition to succeed too often leaves little time for family.
One cold, autumn afternoon, all of that changes when Sarah’s car plunges off a bridge and into a river. She is presumed dead, but Sarah’s spirit is still very much alive. This is gripping tale of a how a few minutes in heaven can transform a woman’s life.
Joyce and Deborah’s first co-authored novel, The Penny, hit 26 on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold very well. She is one of the world’s leading practical Bible teachers and has authored over 70 inspirational titles, including The Confident Woman and Battlefield of the Mind.

Sarah was a workaholic, forever driving herself to be a perfectionist in everything at work and at home. She was hiding a deep sadness within herself, she had been brought up by a mother who had born her after one brief mistake – and never let her forget it. No matter what anyone else said or did Sarah could not rid herself of the sense of being worthless. As the story unfolds we see what a destructive force is ruling her life, to the detriment of every relationship. It takes a life threatening accident and an Angel called Wingtip, to sort the mess, and even then Sarah takes time and another near accident, before she sorts herself and her behaviour. I read till my eyes were drooping, but I so needed to reach the end. Excellent.

I think reading this book opens up my eyes. It brings you to reality the way some of us live. Thinking we are better than other's and we are not. God made us all equal to love each other and that our work is not more important than our family. If you get a second chance in life, live it to the fullest with God.
