After his discharge, Trey became a doctor and got married, but his young wife died. Disheartened, he bummed around the country before settling in Tyler, North Carolina, where he got a second chance at love and a career in medicine.

When Central America was devastated by earthquakes, Trey volunteered to help. While there, Trey was kidnapped by rebel soldiers. Eventually, he escapes, and with rebel soldiers chasing him, he struggles to survive the hot, dangerous jungle.
