When Wendy Jones' parents decide to separate, she responds by running away from home. Befriended by cafe worker, Smithers, she is offered shelter. Only when she enters his semi-derilict home in a street due for demolition, does she realise what a terrible mistake she has made. Wendy is taken prisoner by Smithers, and she discovers his intention is to kill her. During her frightening ordeal, Wendy turns to God for help and finds hope and assurance. There follows a dramatic rescue, and a fresh awareness that God's power can both restore what is shattered and overcome evil.
