It's possible that one of the Wise Men of the Epiphany was only twelve years old.

Young King Rei-Balthazar, mounted on his beloved Belteshazzar, races to proclaim a birth he has seen in the stars and finds himself confronted by a mystery that even his prodigious wisdom can't fathom.

An entitled boy-king who feels telling fortunes and interpreting dreams to be well within his understanding, Rei discovers the speed at which loss can occur, and fortunes can change. This unique take posits that one of the attending Magi was a courageous and wise twelve-year-old prodigy who knew the constellations by heart.

In a touchingly ironic narration twelve years later, during the days that Jesus was left behind in the Temple, Rei recounts to the unrecognised Jesus, a perilous tale of when he was also twelve. One in which he says he discovered and rescued the saviour of Daniel's scrolls in a treacherous journey, but lost everything, including his mother, unaware that, by recognising Jesus' love, she will be restored to him.
