The premise of this book is 1 John 3: 1, 2:

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Five key points of what it means to have our eyes opened include:

1. Immunity from judgment, failure, and eternal damnation

2. A renewed heart, mind and Spirit that recognizes family

3. An abiding, servant attitude obedient to God, rooted in faith

4. Showing love, willing to belong to Jesus, and inviting others

5. Worship that demonstrates we're of His temple and people
