Imagine our world without light. Can't do it, can you?

Light, at the top of God's list for creation (Genesis 1:3-5), is a recurring Biblical theme. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world" (John 9:5), and He tells His followers, "You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). "Light" does not have a singular definition. Its meanings vary with context, and each usage expands our understanding that light is necessary for life. Because poetry helps us look at things from sideways angles, it is the first exploratory tool in Light Reflections.

Written with family devotion times in mind, the read-aloud poems and illustrations reflect the light of Scripture. A "Did You Know?" section provides a learning opportunity, and its questions range in depth so that all ages can participate in discussion. This collection can also be used for individual devotions, in poetry classrooms, and as inspiration to write your own poems.

In Light Reflections, we'll examine the different ways light affects us each and every day. The more time we spend in God's Son-light, the more we will absorb and reflect His love. Jesus is our light even in the darkest dark.
