In this new version of the original 1916 God's Minute, Sarah O'Brien has translated all 365 daily prayers into contemporary English while remaining faithful to their intended meaning and focus. This is not a reprint of the original text, but a modernized, reorganized, and annotated version.

Words such as "thee" and "thy" have been updated to "you" and "your." Antiquated words have been replaced with their more commonly used contemporary counterparts, and the scope of the implied readership has been broadened by using "men and women" or "people" in places where only "men" was used in the original. All of this was done in the interest of making the prayers truly useful and accessible to the most casual or hurried reader.

God's Minute: Modernized Translation includes these new features:

• footnotes citing sources of quoted passages
• historical information about the original publisher and copyright holder
• a chart showing the 22 contributors from the 1916 edition of God's Minute which were replaced in the 1923 edition
• a reorganized supplemental prayers section to which all prayers for evenings, Sunday mornings, and special days have been moved
• Twelve new daily prayers
• Three new supplemental prayers addressing salvation, Father's Day, and recovering from addictions
