Advent Meditations

Experience a new level of spiritual growth during the four weeks of Advent with Advent Meditations. This invaluable resource guide includes a detailed explanation of the Advent Wreath and the themes of each week of the Advent-promise, preparation, presence, and proclamation. Every day of the advent comes alive with the daily meditations found here. Each begins with a scripture reference chosen from the Revised Common Lectionary for Advent. These scripture references are followed by short story meditations that illustrate the scriptural teachings and enliven fresh meaning in the mind of the reader. Some of the stories come from the life of the author, Pastor John E. Windell, while others are based on stories he has heard or read. Each day's meditation is concluded with two or three questions to help you apply the teachings to your daily life. Author Bio: Author John E. Windell has served United Methodist congregations in Southern Indiana for 36 years. He is inspired by mission service and has developed an annual United Methodist Pastor's Retreat and Seminar Center in Ilula, Tanzania in addition to being involved with the establishment of new churches. He is currently working on a book of meditations for Lent.
