Tips to Praise & Worship with Kids & Teens

All of us, from your childhood to adulthood, you are born for only one purpose, and that is to worship God. Whether you go to heaven now, what the angels and twelve elders understand is, to worship God in spirit and in truth. Proverbs 22v6 is a Bible verse that says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Mark 12v30 states, "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." As a child of God, a kid or a teenager appreciate that, you praise and worship God not just while attending church services only, but it is your lifestyle as worship is not only core, but a foundational part of your relationship with God. Hence you must genuinely outpour your heart. As much as worshiping God must be your lifestyle; at church service level, the purpose and function of a praise and worship ministry is to confront the enemy and expand the territory for God's move to connect well with his flock. As the praises go up, his glory comes down, 2 Chronicles 5v13-14.

God's purpose for praise and worship is to bulldoze, cut to size and annihilate the enemy. Hence to serve in this ministry, you have to solely stand on Christ, and not on your own, Proverbs 3v5-6. As a kid or teen worshiper, have a relationship with God, try to weave God's wisdom and truth into your life. As a praise and worship team member, let it be your language that, 'I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give me victory over my enemies, you put my adversaries to shame,' Psalm 44v6. Therefore view your role as a calling from God, hence do not be stiff necked in being corrected. Deprogram yourself and let God reprogram you, to be sensitized to his every move. Paul said in Galatians 2v20, "It is no longer I who lives, but Christ in me..." Therefore, die to the flesh, and let Christ live in you as you praise and worship him
