This memory book journal is a resource for supporting former foster youth adoptees as they discover and process their unique life stories. A thoughtful adoption day gift or meaningful keepsake, My Story combines journaling, scrapbooking, and scripture to promote faith, purpose, and healing. Use this book to initiate important conversations about foster care and adoption, and add to it over time as the conversations continue. Adoptees can attach photos, draw pictures, or write out details about themselves, their biological family, their adoptive family, and important life events. Throughout the book, there are passages from Psalm 139 for reading and reflection. Spend personal, one-on-one time with your adopted child working on the pages together in any order. As children complete the pages at their own pace, they learn that their stories are important and that they are planned, known, and loved. Some pages are intentionally left blank to be customized to your child's unique story. Encourage creativity to make this book reflect his or her personality and interests: add artwork, scripture verses, songs, poems, awards, notes, or cards from friends and family. Most of all, plan times for your adopted child to be able to ask questions, share feelings, and find meaning and hope by embracing truths from God's Word.
