I wrote this book to encourage children to tell a teacher, counselor, or minister if they are hurt, or feel unsafe in their home.

I also wanted children to learn about depression and discuss it with an adult after reading the book. Sometimes family members don't feel comfortable getting counseling for different reasons. I wrote the story to show that prayer and counseling can help family members heal.
