Jesus was the long-awaited king - the king God had promised to his people so many years ago. But he wasn't at all the king they expected_._

He wasn't born in a fancy castle. He was born in a house.

He didn't have an expensive bed. He was first placed in a feeding trough for animals.

He is God but he humbled himself and became a human... just like us.

He may not have been the king they expected but he was the king they needed.

This story may not be the one you expect either.

Our (un)Expected King, takes a fresh look at the birth of Jesus, considering cultural, historical, and linguistic factors. Written for children, this book tells more of the story, including well-known elements as well as those that are typically not written in children's literature.
