A story about a brave young girl named Hadassah who was raised by her cousin after her parents die when she was still young. She is a refugee in a foreign land after her family and fellow countrymen are taken as captives after they were defeated in a war. In the course of time, the King deposes the Queen and conducts a beauty pageant to select a new Queen. On the urging of her cousin Mordecai, Hadassah enters the contest and wins the King's heart. Hadassah wins the beauty contest, the King changes her name to Esther and crowns her as the new Queen. One day one of the King's officials plots a plan to eliminate all of Hadassah's kinsmen, the Queen is informed of the plot and she approaches the King to plead with him to save her people. The King is moved by compassion and spares the Jews and with wrath he punishes the official who had plotted the plan.
