A Life Lived in the Shadow of the AlmightyThis touching memoir, "The Gospel According to Diane - Between Vestibule and Altar," chronicles a life lived as the last of a devoutly Catholic ten-member family in rural Trinidad in the 60s through 80s. Diane had a unique view from the tail of the towering family structure above her, populated by 'large and in charge personalities' who absorbed all of the oxygen in the room.

Her family home became the village Church where a procession of holy men of God celebrated weekly Mass for a tiny but fervent congregation. Their presence added depth, richness and beauty. She navigated the topography of her life with a Catholic compass, devout and loving parents and committed parish priests in a rich parish and village setting. The invisibility of her 'Nazareth-like' childhood bore abundant fruit in her adult years and blossomed and flourished in her marriage and family.

The book describes faith stories, living parables taught by Diane's parents as they raised their rambunctious brood within a rich, kingdom-centric value system.
