The author's story begins with glimpses into her childhood in rural Herefordshire. It tells of outdoor pancake races, of singing at the top of a church tower at 6.30 am, and being shuttled to such events in a small green mini with nine other children and a driver.
Her subsequent years follow a different pattern.
When she learns she has breast cancer, Lynette is devastated. Who wouldn't be? But she learns there is also hope. For many, such a diagnosis is not the end. There is life after cancer and life after breasts.
The author goes through a hard time. Her treatment is harsh, but this is not the case for everyone. I encourage you to read her personal and honest account.
Informative, and at times humorous, the takeaway from this book is the hope of a new beginning, and that for greater and greater numbers of people, this illness is not the end. There are breakthroughs in this field of research every year.
Lynette's faith in God helps sustain her through her hardest days and hours, and it is only after this chapter of her life ends that she begins singing in a music group, she records a Gospel album, and she becomes a published author.
