Memories, Reflections, and Lessons Learned

From the warmth of Dallas in the 1950s to the sanctuary of the synagogue, Irving Jacob shares a lifetime of memories, reflections, and lessons learned in faith, patience, and community.

With humor and humility, Jacob invites readers into the world of a gabbai-the man behind the scenes who keeps synagogue life running smoothly. Along the way, he shares stories of childhood Seders, lessons from his parents' remarkable journey from Germany to Shanghai to America, and the everyday experiences that shape his understanding of what it means to live a righteous and purposeful life.

Through chapters that move from punctuality and waiting to tales of family, faith, and friendship, Confessions of a Gabbai is both deeply personal and universally human-a heartfelt glimpse into a life devoted to service, reflection, and striving toward goodness.
